Louisiana Assembly Hires New Executive Director

Health Care Centers in Schools welcomes Chip Peters as the new executive director of the Louisiana Assembly on School-Based Health Care (LASBHC). Chip relocated to Baton Rouge from Pittsburgh, PA to begin his position October 18.

As the first paid staff of LASBHC, Chip is enacting an advocacy plan for the state of Louisiana. The plan will help parents, youth and community members to understand the benefits of school-based health care and give them the power to advocate for the long term growth and sustainability of school-based health centers.

The new executive director of the Louisiana Assembly, Chip Peters (Left), meets with John Schlitt, executive director of the National Assembly on School-Based Health Care, at the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.

This project is funded through a five-year grant from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek, Michigan.
